SaveTreez provides the opportunity to play an active part in protecting the environment and reducing CO2 emissions across the world. SaveTreez operates with experienced professional tree suppliers to this end by taking action each day to replant trees all over the planet. SaveTreez focuses replanting in regions where we can have the most impact including the Amazon, the Americas, Africa, South Asia and Australia.
Climate Change is an issue that requires a global solution. Join the SaveTreez community to make a difference today.
“I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to lead an initiative that provides the means to protect our natural environment on a global scale.” - Christopher Clare, Founder SaveTreez

ARTICLE
In order to tackle climate change everyone can play a role in replanting trees and forests around the world. Trees are vital as they can remove carbon dioxide from the air, and act as a natural storage locking carbon in the trees and soil while releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. Trees also help to improve air quality and reduce water pollution. The consensus amongst the scientific community is that new trees and forests can help to reduce the temperature on the planet.
The international Panel on Climate Change has indicated that we need to plant the equivalent of 1 billion hectares of trees in addition to cutting carbon emissions to stop the planet from warming beyond 1.5 degrees Celsius. Planting trees helps to support the environment, as they are renewable, biodegradable and recyclable. Furthermore planting up to 1 trillion new trees is equivalent to absorbing about 20 years worth of global greenhouse gases.
Countries across the world are supporting a myriad of tree planting and reforestation initiatives over the next decade. Certain forests continue to remain under stocked therefore there is increasing demand to introduce new trees and help sequester carbon emissions in existing forests. Responsible approaches are necessary in replanting trees. In some cases natural forest generation can provide a more diverse mix of species and a better solution for the long-term sustainability of forests.
Consideration should also be given to the best regions to plant new trees such as the tropics where trees grow at an accelerated rate and absorb carbon dioxide. There are also social factors and challenges to consider where in many places raising cattle and growing crops is more profitable than allowing trees to return. More policies are therefore needed to promote responsible reforestation and to stimulate the market to offset carbon emissions and forest products for the benefit of both indigenous communities as well as the sustainability of the planet.
Our Founder
"My name is Christopher Clare. I am a student in secondary school and a social entrepreneur in the UK. I decided to pursue this initiative after observing the impact that we are all having on the environment and the growing calls around the world that action is needed now to address the climate crisis."

ABOUT US
SaveTreez mission is to engage the global community to plant more trees across the world and support a sustainable environment for future generations.

Sir David Attenborough kindly agreed for us to share recent public statements made by him to support sustainable reforestation and conservation of the natural world. SaveTreez is dedicated to forging alliances with leading figures and scientific experts across the world that are committed to working towards a sustainable environment for future generations. - Christopher Clare, Founder SaveTreez
A Life on Our Planet documentary is Sir David Attenborough’s “witness statement” for the natural world and vision for the future. He reveals how together we can address the biggest challenges facing life on our planet.
“We already know many of the solutions – we just need the will to act. It’s only when we have a shared understanding of the problems we face, and the solutions available, that enough change will happen. The biggest way we can make a difference is to put nature at the heart of our decisions.”
“We still have time to halt and even reverse the damage we have caused to the planet.”

Deforestation – Replanting Native Trees
“With continued deforestation of the Amazon rainforest, it will degrade in the next two decades to a point where it can no longer produce enough moisture, transforming into a dry savannah. Not only will this decimate the biodiversity in the rainforest, but it will also alter the global water cycle.
We can't cut down rainforests forever and anything that we can't do forever is by definition unsustainable. If we do things that are unsustainable then the damage accumulates ultimately to the point where it all collapses. The deforestation of Borneo has reduced the population of Orangutan by two thirds since I first saw one over 60 years ago.”
“We need to halt deforestation as forests are the planet’s biggest ally in locking away carbon. The return of native trees would absorb as much as two thirds of the carbon emissions that have been released into the atmosphere by our activities to date.”
Further, forests must be more bio diverse as this will make them more effective at absorbing carbon. Crops like oil palm and soya should only be grown on land that was deforested long ago. An example is Costa Rica. A century ago, more than three-quarters of the nation was covered with forest. By the 1980s, thanks to rampant deforestation, this was reduced to one quarter. The government intervened, giving grants to landowners to replant native trees. Thanks to this initiative, forests now cover half of Costa Rica once more.

The following extracts from publicly sourced articles highlight recent developments with the climate crisis and our understanding of the science behind climate change and sustainability from planting trees and reforestation.
The Climate Emergency: 2020 Review
There is mounting evidence linking extreme weather frequency and intensity to climate change. 2020 was one of the hottest years on record which saw extraordinary wildfire activity in the Western United States and Australia, a Siberian heat wave with high temperatures exceeding 38 degrees Celsius within the Arctic circle, a record low for October Artic sea ice extent, of 2.04 million square miles, an Atlantic hurricane season resulting in more than $46 billion in damage, and floods and landslides in South Asia that displaced over 12 million people.
Efforts must continue to reduce emissions and increase removals of atmospheric carbon. Scientists now find that catastrophic climate change could render a significant portion of the Earth uninhabitable consequent to continued high emissions, self-reinforcing climate feedback loops and looming tipping points.
In recent developments, The European Union is on track to meet its emissions reduction goal for 2020 and become zero net carbon by 2050; however, this goal will still increase temperatures from the damaging levels of today. Other governments are committing to zero net carbon, including China by 2060 and Japan by 2050. Similar pledges have been made by the UK, many others, although there is evidence that a 2050 or later target may be inadequate and net zero carbon should be reached much earlier. US President Joe Biden has pledged that the US will re-join the Paris Agreement and has proposed a $2 trillion climate plan to phase down fossil fuels by expanding renewable energy capacity amongst other measures. Progress for nature came in the form of the Bonn Challenge to restore forest and other ecosystems.

How SaveTreez makes an impact on a global scale:
SaveTreez supports sustainable tree planting activities and reforestation projects in regions of the world that enable high levels of carbon sequestration working alongside with local communities. Your funds are targeted at planting native tree species in the most needed locations that help accelerate reforestation and the restoration of the natural environment. We are currently focused on projects in the Amazon, the Americas, Africa, South Asia and Australia.
